This Restaurant was located at 6052 East Independence Boulevard in Charlotte, North Carolina. This restaurant was repainted after it closed, similar to other closed YUM brands restaurants. This closed restaurant is 3,152 Square feet and it's lot size is 45,302 Square Feet. According to gotobus.com this restaurant is now being used as a Bus Station. I do not know much about this restaurant, but I know it was opened between 2002 and 2004 and closed in late 2009 or early 2010. The other KFC and A&W combo in Charlotte on South Tryon Street was closed by the health department in 2007. There is also a post on this blog on the closed BJ's Wholesale store next door.

Here is a Bing Maps view of what this restaurant looked like before.

Same thing happened here in SoCal, we had an A&W/John Long Silvers that abruptly closed, got some photos on Flickr of it, everything still inside made it even eerier!

  2. That Independence Blvd you see is slated to become a highway someday, and a lot of the parking lots are going to be usurped anyway. Plus, access to much of this retail will have to come from other roads, which is in a bad neighborhood. So, many places are simply cutting their losses now.
